Gidday,Hope this finds all well.A long family tree but small Hiney branch in God's Country ie Australia. My name is Mark Hiney,son of Mick,Grandson of Paddy,Greatgrand son of Mick(all of whom I never meet due to early death).The original 500 acres settled outside Orange in late 1800's,now 70 acres,still in great hands of my Mum and Dad going strong at'Riversdale' Spring Creek.Spuds were the stronghold of the land with many trophies of crops along with draught horse ploughing championships from around the area noted.Any more info on Hiney family history before landing in Australia,and hence,greatly apprieciated.Cheers Mark Hiney

The Marian Shrine is the only thing in the Town that stands out, there trying to take a major part of our town, Think of all the money it cost the people of crossmolina 50 years ago to put up that statue

We are lucky to still have the Marine shrine in the town, it was nearly taken down for relocation by Mayo County Council on Thursday morning. Dr Mickey saved the shrine by a last minute intervention.
