Crossmolina suffered a four points defeat in the County U16 League against Knockmore in St Josephs Park on Tuesday last. After a first half in which the home side dominated and lead at half time by 0 - 10 to 0 - 5. The second half was a low scoring affair with the visitors scoring two points from David Lynn and Jason Donnelly and Duane McDonnell replying with one. The Crossmolina parish Annual The Chronicle held it's annual general meeting in the enterprise centre on last Wednesday night April 29th The committee looked back on another very successful year for the parish annual and are looking forward to producing the seventeenth edition in 2009. Loftus Launches Campaign

A very large crowd gathered in Sticks Bar on Friday of last week for the official launch of Mayo County Council candidate Michael Loftus's (Fianna Fail ) for the Ballina area. Michael's father Dr Michael formally launched the campaign which was attended by fellow candidate's Johnny O'Malley, Annie. May. Reape, European candidate Pascal Mooney newly elected Minister of State at the Department of Enterprise, trade and Employment, Michael Finnernan Minister for Housing Roscommon, other guest's who attended were Senator John Carty Knock, Bevely Flynn T.D and members of Ballina Town Council former Counciler's Christy Garrett, Stephen Molloy supporters from all over the area and beyond
