Bridie McAndrew R I P The death occurred at Mayo General Hospital on Saturday 7th November of Bridie McAndrew Keenaghmore Ballina. Her remains were removed from Hiney’s funeral home to the Church of the Holy Souls Keenagh with burial in Kilmurray Cemetery after Requiem Mass. Bridie was pre-deceased by her husband Eddie is survived by her sons Eamon Ballina, John Aghagower Westport, daughters Marian Reading England, Angela Keenaghmore, Carmel Walsh Laherdane, Teresa Kelly Westport Rd Castlebar, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, grandchildren, extended family, friends and neighbours. May she Rest in Peace
Julia Slattery RIP The death occurred on Sunday 8th November at Mayo General Hospital Castlebar of Julia Slattery Mullenmore North and formerly of Mortastown Kilkenny Road Carlow.(Former house-keeper of Fr James Boland) Julia was buried in St Mary’s Cemetery Carlow on Wednesday last after Requiem Mass in the Cathedral of the Assumption. Julia is survived by her nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, relations and friends. May she Rest in Peace
Dora Cleary R I P The death occurred on Thursday 12th November at Mayo General Hospital of Dora Cleary nee Fergus Loughill Castlehill Ballina and formerly of Corcullen Keenagh. Her remains were removed from Hiney’s funeral home on Friday evening to the Church of our Lady Kilmurray with burial on Saturday in adjoining Cemetery after Requiem Mass. Dora was pre-deceased by her husband Anthony is survived her sons Jimmy Loughill and Edward Ballina, daughters Mary Rowley Julianstown Co Meath, and Brid Gibbons Fanard Co Donegal, sister Nora Monnelly Ballina, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, extended family, friends and neighbours. May she Rest in Peace.
Lotto Results There was no winner of the Crossmolina G A A club local lotto jackpot on Saturday night 7th November. The numbers were: 14 - 21 - 25 - 26 Gerard Jordan Enniscoe Castlehill Ballina matched three number and won €150. The draw took place in Lynott’s Bar. This weeks jackpot is €12,650. Anthony meets The President Anthony Walshe Kildavarogue Castlehill Ballina was among the invited guests of President Mary McAleese in Aras an Uachtarain recently to mark 25 years of self help Africa. Anthony undertook a hugely successful fund-raising campaign for the charity in Mayo last year and subsequently travelled to visit its projects in Ethiopia to see first hand where the funds raised were used.

Peace Commissioners Mike Joe Mulhern Ballina Rd and Paid Corcoran Mullenmore North are the two officially appointed Peace Commissioners for the Crossmolina area. This a totally free service to the members of the public New Brownies Group All girls between the ages of seven and ten years are welcome. Games, crafts and lots of fun.
