Fr Seamus ReturnsOn Saturday evening week Fr Seamus Rowland Eskeragh returned to his native Parish after his ordination in Tyler Texas on Saturday May 23rd. Family,neighbour's, friends and parishioner's were amongst the very large crowd that greeted Fr Seamus at Knockglass as the cavalcade of Cars made its way to Eskeragh with a Garda escort bone fires burned and crowds of people were out along the route their banners and flags. On arrival in Eskeragh Fr Seamus visited his grandmother Molly and then it was on to the school where a marquee was erected to accommodate the large crowd with a bouncing castle for the children. Fr Michael Conway welcomed Fr Seamus and his friend Fr Peter McGrath from Tipperary who was ordained with Fr Seamus. Fr Michael said it was a very special night for the Rowland family the people of Eskeragh and the parish of Crossmolina to have a priest ordained in the area wishing him all gods blessing in his missionary work in texas. The large gathering of people were treated to food and refreshments by the lady's and gents of the area music was supplied by Gallagher's Crossmolina. On Sunday evening Fr Seamus celebrated his first mass in the parish in St Tiernans Church which was packed to the rafters with the assistance close on forty priests. Fr Seamus gave his blessing to every body after mass later the crowd gathered in Hiney's Upper Deck where their was food and refreshments served local band Wavelength provided the music.
