The official launch of the Crossmolina Community Festival brochure was held on Main Street on Sunday last. The committee extend a big thank you to everyone who participated and helped to make the launch so successful! The committee thank the teachers and students of Crossmolina National School for helping us to launch our Under-18 programme on last Wednesday, June 27th, and for helping to put their 'hand-print' onto the festival signs!

Crossmolina Mourns Canon James Nallen

The death occurred peacefully on Sunday evening, June 17th at his residence of Canon James Nallen, Mullenmore North, Crossmolina, late PP, Ardagh, Ballina. His remains were removed on Tuesday evening from Hiney's Funeral Home to St. Tiernan's Church. Burial took place in Ardagh Church Grounds on Wednesday after concelebrated Mass.

Martial Arts Winners

Community Rallies as Bonniconlon Man Gets Treatment in Sweden

An appeal fund has been launched for a Bonniconlon man who has been diagnosed with a rare liver disease and has to have ongoing medical treatment in Sweden. Patrick McAndrew is a native of Bonniconlon who has a brother John and his wife and family living in Tubbercurry. A group of friends have come together and formed a committee to raise necessary funds to support Patrick’s long-term treatment.

Major road investment

Crossmolina and its environs are to benefit from major road investment to the tune of €2.5m over the course of the next 12 months. Under the provision of grants announced last week, •2m will be spend on work at Moylough, •450,000 at Dooleeg and a further •100,000 will be allocated to the Crossmolina-Ballina Road route selection process. Fianna Fáil candidate Dara Calleary has welcomed the investment.
