Moffatt School of Irish Dancing
The Moffatt school of dancing was founded in July 1990. From small beginnings, the school has grown into one of the largest schools in the west of Ireland.
The school holds classes weekly in many North Mayo venues, with its base in the parish of Crossmolina. Classes cater for beginners right through to open championship level. All age groups are accommodated. Both solo and team dancing is taught to a very high standard.
The school has been represented every year at the State and National Championships in both Solo and Team divisions with some outstanding results.
The school aims to teach your children to be the best dancers they can be, while having fun along the way and buidling self esteem and other skills which will benefit them outside of dance, such as....
In addition to the competition aspect, the school enjoys many opportunities for non competitive displays and performances. These allow the dancers a chance to learn and show off more modern, show style pieces and be creative with the dance. We also have several social events through the year including our Annual North Mayo Feis and regular group activities, allowing us all to kick back and relax in a more social, non-dance setting!
The school has an active parents committee who assist in organising the many events that the school is involved with.
