Within the claustrophobic world that is the higher echelons of Gaelic games administration, Dr. Mick Loftus is very well got - as they say in the vernacular. He’s even more well got around his native Crossmolina in County Mayo both within and out with his medical practice and GAA involvement.

Kevin Rowland born August 17, 1953 is a singer, song-writer and former leader of Dexy's Midnight Runners. Born in Wolverhampton, England, with strong Crossmolina connections.

Crossmolina Conspiracy

Pat W. Nally
1859-1891; mbr. of IRB Supreme Council, enlisted by Dr. Mark Ryan; and supported of Gaelic League; instrumental in foundation of GAA through encouragement of Michael Cusack (walking in Phoenix Park); involvement in Crossmolina Conspiracy led to 10 years imprisonment and death shortly after release through harsh treatment; memorial in Balla, Co. Mayo.
