UPDATED
The Traders Race, usually held on the opening night of the festival, had a successful transition to Monday night. Of course the dry evening was an added bonus but the atmosphere was high on anticipation as the local businesses competed against each other in a highly charged event.

Chapel Street was closed off and lively commentary by Enda Judge guaranteed the participants were encouraged and the crowd was kept well informed.
Those gathered were given an added show when Kevin Connor drove the Fire Brigade down the street and proceeded to hose Liam Cawley with water - much to Liam's surprise but to the delight of the crowd.
