Pat Cafferty originally from Fairfield Name: Marybeth Van Winkle CommentsWhat a wonderful resource your page is for those of us with Crossmolina roots. I only wish it were up and running when I was trying to put the pieces of my ancestry together. I grew up in a neighborhood in Scranton, PA that was all Crossmolina: Lammonds, Ruanes, Caffreys, Kellys,Bannons,McHales and many others. The sisters of the great Martin Davitt, not exactly Crossmolina, lived on the corner and ran the Padden Hotel. It was once a little bit of heaven! Hi to my dear friend Tony Donohoe. (Did you get the tobacco?) and my cousins, Josephine Nallon and Martina Naughton. I hope to see you soon. I am looking for information on my greatgrandparents, OWEN MORAN & KATHERINE DUFFY. OWEN was born about 1844 & CATHARINE about 1854. OWEN MORAN emigrated to Jersey City, New Jersey, USA about 1870. I don't know if he married Katharine in Ireland or USA. Since there are no passenger lists into New York for this time period, I have no idea of the ship. OWEN & CATHERINE had 13 kids, 7 surviving as of the 1900 US Census. I have found OWEN MORAN returning from Queenstown in 1911 aboard the ship CEDRIC, at 70 years of age, single, & senile. Does anyone have a connection to OWEN MORAN or CATHERINE DUFFY? I would appreciate any information, no matter how trivial it may seem to someone. Thank you. Blessings... I hope to visit again next spring, Pat Cafferty from Fairfield. Name: Jim O'Reilly CommentsGreetings Again, Crossmolina My apologies for getting the name incorrectly in my previous post. I also want to commend you on your excellent website. Name: Jim O'Reilly CommentsGreetings to Crossomila, I am tracing my mother's roots. Her name was Helen O'Malley and I have heard she came from Crossmolina. She was born in November 1893. She had a number of brothers who emigrated to America --as she did also after marrying William O'Reilly in Belfast. I believe her mother's maiden name was Gaffney or Gaughan. I note there are about 7 or 8 entries for O'Malleys in the Crossmolina online telephone directory and it seems likely there may be a family relationship among them. I would like to correspond with anyone who could offer suggestions on tracing my mother's records. She is sure to have been baptized in the local Catholic church --so the name of that church would be helpful. Best wishes to the folks of Crossomila. Jim O'Reilly Name: Ray and Sheila Thompson CommentsGreat to see the web site which gave usthe push to come visit. 50 years is too long to return to Crossmolina. Name: Helen Bayne Richards CommentsName: Cynthia Digby CommentsYour website is wonderful. I have been searching for a Crossmolina site with info and pictures since September, last year. I was in Crossmolina looking up some family history (what's new?). My Great Grandfather, Charles Ormsby Wiley was the parish rector of St. Mary's Church in Crossmolina from 1872-1910. He also was the Canon of Killala 1904 - 1910. Thanks for the picture of St. Mary's on your site. As Church's go, it's pretty quaint. I'll be waiting on pins & needles for the final result. Name: Camilla CommentsHi! New Address!!!!! And a Page for Irish Horses in Britain!! If you want to try to search for your horses history!! Iīm doing an homepage about our ridingclub here in Sweden. Since we have many Irishbread horses and ponies here itīs become my interest to try to trace our horses background if possible. In Sweden there is a lot of Irish horses and ponies. Most of them have an unknown background. I know that many of the current owners and grooms wantīs to know where their horses came from, what they have done before coming to Sweden, their pedigrees, previous owners and much more. I have written to all ridingclubs in Sweden so hopefully they will take a look at the site and see if someone in Ireland is looking for their horse. And they can also mail me their Irish horses pictures and description and Iīll put it on the site. Maybe someone in Ireland have an horse that they know were brought to Sweden and wonder what happened to him/her. I think that it would be great to have an "meetingplace" where people can advertise their horses. Thatīs why I created this site. And if someone have an horse that they are looking for they can mail me the information and a picture and Iīll put it on my site. Perhaps someone will find their long lost friend here, that would make me happy. Anyway, take a look at the site. On the first page there is a picture marked with Irish Horses, thatīs the link to the Irish section and itīs written in english so Irish people can understand it aswell. There is also an messageboard if someone wantīs to ask questions or place an "wanted horse". I really think that this is a good idea. Please tell me what you think. maybe we can exchange links All the Best Camilla Name: Commentsnone of them!!!!!!!! we'll maybe carmel she is pure sound Name: Commentswho do you think should get student of the year 2003? carmel orme, cathy naylor, aoife hiney or dianne regan?
