My apologies to all Crossmolina GAA fans as I have had to transfer to Cellbridge GAA Club due to work commitments. I'm sure many of you who remember my fantastic winning wonder goal in the under 13 county final in 1992 will be very saddened to see such a great talent leave the club. However Crossmolina's loss is Cellbridge's gain.... ye'll have to make do with the likes of my former team-mate Peadar Gardiner for now... unless the Committee decide to offer me 1 euro a mile to travel from Cellbridge 3 times a week. Who knows perhaps they'll manage without me?

We had a wonderful week in Balina with my husbands realtives, Hugh Ruane Margaret(Dec) Ruane, and were given the most wonderful welcome bay Bridie and Tommy Reidy his cousins, It is a wonderful place, My Husbands Grandfather left it to get work in Glasgow and married Margaret Jane lennox, they had my mother inlaw Brigit Ruane shortley after he died or I am sure he would have returned to thePlace of his birth, When we there I chose a bit of his home turf which I took back to his Grave in Glasgow A bit of Ireland in to keep him company, and to let him know he was still thought of in Ballina. THis is a great site and I have only just found it . Hello Crossmolina, I have found your web page a great help, as my Father and all his family come from crossmolina and I have never visited myself. I have also never met anybody from his family. I have often thought about visiting myself to see the place he talks about so often and the place I know he dearly misses. I would also like to see or talk to some of his family or friends even if its breifly. My Dads name is Patrick Munnelly and he moved away from crossmolina roughly 35 years ago to live in Hertfordshire, England. I visited Ireland for a month this past summer, I am very sorry I didn't get to Crossmolina as later
I found out when visiting Lahardane and Westport from a wonderful couple John and Barbara Mayock that my ansestors were from Crossmolina. I will return to Ireland one day for it was the most memorable trip I had thus far in my life.I know why people here say if you go to Ireland you always want to go back.
By chance if anyone reading this would have any more info on these families could you let me know it has become very important to my mother to find her roots before she passes, she is so very proud of being Irish.And I must admit I am too. Domnick O'Donnell born 1795 married Catherine Mayock born 1796 m 1815 children : Mary b 1819 m Patrick Jordan , Anne b 1825 m Anthony Ferguson 1843, Bridget b1828 m William Johnson b 1824 mNov. 02 1850 , Peter b 1830 m Ellen Jordan Patrick b 1832 m Isabelle McRae , Michael b 1833 Baptized September 20, 1834 Bengerrew Crossmolina Parish N. m Mary Millett, Catherine b 1834 m Anthony Jordan, Domnick b 1838 They left Ireland in approx 1842 in a small sailing vessel that took six weeks to arrive in Canada.
