As part of the Community Festival Crossmolina Tidy Towns Committee hosted their Gardeners World on Friday 29th July. The town came alive with stalls erected along the riverbank selling or giving away all sorts of items
from shrubs to artichokes to bird nesting boxes. Chickens hens and even some ducks .
Also attending this year we had the staff from Ballycroy National Park, Crossmolina Primary Care Team, Ms Sharon Cameron Mayo County Council who gave advice and information of recycling, composting etc. Members of the committee, Community Services Programme and volunteers worked very hard erecting the stalls and baking apple tarts, crumbles scones, cakes etc
The weather was glorious and the event was well attended with lots of tea and coffee served as well as gaelic coffee. The Committee would like to thank all the people who donated home grown vegetables and the lovely cakes, scones etc.and to all the volunteers who helped on the day.
A special thank you to The Davis Family for allowing us the use of the store and for all their kindness, we would also like to thank Social Services and Enda Hiney for their help.
