Matthew Davis wins second Irish Cadet Title.
Recently  Matthew Davis Moygownagh member of Ardagh/Crossmolina Boxing Club  won his second Irish Cadet Title in spectacular style in the National Stadium in Dublin by beating top International James Keenan in a classic contest of brains versus brawn.

Keenan beat Matthew in a brutal encounter just two weeks earlier but Matthew turned it around in amazing style producing a career defining performance to bring his second Irish Cadet Title back to Mayo. His was in fact the only Title won by a Mayo boxer at these championships. Matthew by winning this title now has a very real chance of getting on the team to box in the European Championships in Russia in October and representing his country on the world stage. A very big thank you to all who came out on a very wet Sunday evening to welcome Matthew home and for all the people who lit the bonfire to acknowledge this young man’s brilliant achievement .
