Raymond Gallagher from NJ | Signed on: Mon 25 Sep 2006 04:51:15 IST It has been a week already and by god was the last week an embarrasing one as had to work with all the kerry lads here. But i do feel some remorse to to players and they r James Nallen and Ciarian McDonald as they have played in numerous All Irelands and each and every time in the final they play to their best of their ability and not to have won an All Ireland Medal yet must be heartbreaking and I know they both played well but when u have mortimer playing so bad and as the rest i have no comment. But I do feel for those 2 lads as they play their hearts out and lads I think it is high time u join Kerry or Galway for next years final. |

| disappointed | Signed on: Fri 22 Sep 2006 15:28:45 IST The Sam Maguire will never come to Mayo, the skill, believe and ability is there. But there is a deeper problem in the Team and with Mayo that is only getting worse each time they play and loose an All Ireland. There is too much expectation placed on the team, Kerry on the other hand are just there to play football and play well with a plan. They new if they came out and put the pressure on it would rattle Mayo and it did. As the official said when the Kerry supporters ran onto the field, (Stewards Plan B) where was Mayo's Plan B? |

F Walsh from Aberdeen | Signed on: Mon 28 Aug 2006 11:01:41 IST Congrats to Mayo on the win yesterday! For anyone who isn't fortunate enough to be home in Ireland (like us), you can always pay to watch the final on www.setanta.tv.....it only cost us $9.95 yesterday to watch the semi-final and was well worth it! A broadband connection is essential and there is a demo to test before you purchase. Note: there was a bit of a delay in the live feed and some freezing but I'm guessing that's due to our 'barely broadband' connection speed (512Kbps)! A 1MB connection or above should be sufficent but don't quote me on it! Slainte |

Bill Wood from Manchester NH USA | Signed on: Sat 15 Jul 2006 19:19:28 IST I recently found an old notebook my grandfather kept his family history in. He has been dead for fifty years. It says my ancesters were born Gorduff crossmolina county mayo ireland. Their names were Thomas, Cecelia, Mary, James,Bridget, and a sister we don't have a first name for. All but the unknown sister emigrated to Bostn MA. The unknown sister married a man named John Fox, and we believe stayed in the family home. Their children were John, Daniel, Catherine, Patrick, Celia, and Ann. We believe all but Patrick emigrated to Boston as well. My grandfathers notes say Patrick's adress was "Moylaw formerly Gorduff". This would now be about 1950. are Gorduff and Moylaww street names |

William Karr from USA | Signed on: Mon 12 Jun 2006 02:52:46 IST I am looking for a connection to several of my ancestors. First, my great, great grandparents were Michael McDermott and Mary McHugh. They supposedly married in 1847 in Addergoole Parish. Second, Margaret Brady who was born in County Mayo in 1873. In 1895, she married William Walsh (Welch) in Chicago. I\'m not sure what parish from whence she came. Admin's Comment: All History & Genealogy moved to Discussion Forum. http://www.crossmolina.ie/option,com_joomlaboard/Itemid,106/func,showcat/catid,9/ |

Lainey from Scotland | Signed on: Sun 19 Mar 2006 05:14:12 GMT Hi everyone. I used this guestbook in 2003 to trace my dear friend who previously hailed from Crossmolina and was able to get back in touch with her as a result , so many thanks to everyone who gave me info on her whereabouts. On an entirely diferent matter however , I am locked in an ongoing battle with Leeds based company Brands Partnership to try and get my wonderful Scottish childhood drink Creamola Foam back on the market. Their argument is that they discontinued it due to a low turnover in sales and high cost of production but they are ignoring the plea from thousands who are desperate for it's return. Brands Partnership say that as only Scottish people miss it , it wouldn't be viable to bring it back as no-one else would buy it. I am so enraged by this because this was more than a soft drink for me , it is embedded in the very essence of my Scottish culture and is steeped in childhood memories for me. How dare a company in England say that that the people of Scotland may NEVER have their unofficial third national drink back ? I believe that this drink was popular in Ireland too (judging by the online petition and from what I have heard from friends) and so I am calling upon the good people of Ireland to offer support to bring this wonderful , foaming , fizzy drink back to it's rightful place - on supermarket shelves the length and breadth of every country. This drink has had celebrity backing from Scottish comedian Phil Kaye and from Fred MacAuley and has attracted interested from international net users , curious about it. If you remember Creamola Foam and miss it , or just want to have a chat in general , then please join me at the yahoo group which I have created at : http://uk.groups.yahoo.com/group/creamolafoamaddicts/ Come one , come all and let the voice of the little people be heard. Many thanks - Lainey x |
