Mayo’s Connacht Title.
Congratulation to Conor Loftus and Jordan Flynn who played their part in Mayo’s nail biting one point win over Galway in the Connacht final each were winning their first Connacht Senior medals. Also to Ciaran McDonald team coach and all associated with this group of players and management on winning this title after a lapse of five years. Good luck in the All-Ireland semi-final.
Wild Mountain Accents
There was a lot of online reaction to the official trailer of Wild Mountain Thyme which was released last week, to be fair, Irish accents are hard. But Nephin and the countryside around Crossmolina Parish looks great. Billy Connor and Eamon Moore took to the airwaves on the Joe Duffy show to give a more balanced side to the discussion. The film is due for release in the USA on Dec 11th and on demand, there is no Irish release date yet due months and months of the cinemas being closed.

These children’s lives are compounded by uncertainty, poverty, fear and exclusion. With Christmas looming, I think it would be a very kind gesture to let them know that they are supported. It will really put a smile on their faces, after what has been an especially difficult year. We are not asking for people to spend a lot of money, maybe you can reuse items that have been left idle in your home! Advent Calendar:
The first day of Advent heralds the beginning of the Catholic Church’s new year. Advent (from ‘ad-venire’ in Latin or “to come to”) is the Church season encompassing the four Sundays and weekdays leading up to the celebration of Christmas. Advent is a time of spiritual preparation for the Lord’s coming at Christmas. We are delighted to be bringing you our online interactive Advent Calendar again this year. It will go live on the First Sunday of Advent on 29 November 2020.
Log on to: www.catholicbishops.ie/adventcalendar Now in its seventh year, the online Advent Calendar is offering resources for the parish, school and the home which are available behind a virtual door each day during the Season of Advent. Behind each door there will be content aimed at assisting people to pray and to reflect on how best we can keep Christ at the centre of our Christmas preparations during this special liturgical season. The theme of the Advent Calendar this year is Hope. We are inviting people to journey with us this Advent Season by Sharing Hope through acts of kindness and charity that all of us are encouraged to undertake during the month of December.

A Message from Pope Francis.
“We must be very attentive to the prescriptions of the authorities, both the political authorities and health authorities, in order to protect ourselves against this pandemic. Let us offer to the Lord this distance between us, for the good of all, and let us think, let us think a lot about the sick, about those who are already marginalized when they enter the hospitals; let us think about the doctors, the nurses, the volunteers, the many people who work with the sick at this time: they risk their life but they do so out of love for their neighbour, as a vocation. Let us pray for them. “Pope Francis
