There was no winner of Crossmolina Deel-Rovers GAA Club Lotto Jackpot Saturday night 18th July the numbers drawn were 2 – 4 – 11 – 28. Two punters matched three numbers Veronica and Morgan O’Malley Deerpark Crossmolina, Paul Duffy Erris St Crossmolina they win €75 each. This week’s jackpot is €5.400.The draw takes place in the Parish Hall on Saturday night and can be viewed on Crossmolina GAA face book page. Our Lotto is back in the Local shops and on line. After much consideration The Day Centre will remain closed for the time being. We are monitoring government guidelines on Covid-19 and hope that as soon as there is an opportunity we will reopen for Bingo and Knitting. We are all looking forward to seeing you all again soon.

Crossmolina and Bonniconlon played out an exciting high scoring draw in this Michael Walsh Intermediate League in Bonniconlon on Saturday week. Crossmolina with the aid the breeze Chris Myles opening the scoring which Wesley Loftus cancelled out Fionan Duffy Dean Loftus and Duffy again pointed Wesley Loftus and Killian Upton raised white flags before Tom Cafferty fired over a point Ronan Neary waltzed around a couple of defences to hammer the ball to the net after 13 minutes. Crossmolina replied immediately after flowing movement John Garrett finished to the net another Ronan Neary goal and a point in between Fionan Duffy pointed twice in quick succession on the stroke of half time Conor Igoe pointed to tie the score 2 – 5 to 1 – 8 Crossmolina dominated after the break with three points from Fionan Duffy and one from Dean Loftus Bonniconlon came back with two points from Ronan Neary and one each from Sean Neary and Killian Upton to tie the score Fionan Duffy again tacked on three points in as many minuets Sean Neary Ronan Neary John Rafter pointed. Crossmolina Junior team had a comfortable win over Bonniconlon in the North Mayo Junior B League at Tiernans Park on Sunday week. Leading by 0 – 8 to 0 – 2 at the break points coming from Conor Caden Gerard Haran Adam Langan Conor Rowland and Colm Hegarty The visitors scores coming from Richard McKenzie and Cormac O’Malley. The Death of Deel-Rover John.
It is with great sadness we learned of the death of John ‘JK’ Byrne Portroyal Claremorris formerly of Malin Co Donegal. John Was a Garda Sergeant stationed in Crossmolina in 1955 joined the Deel-Rover GAA Club played a pivotal part in the Clubs Run of success in capturing the North Mayo title with a 2 – 9 to 0 – 4 win over Belmullet and going on to win the county title defeating Kiltmagh 3 – 5 to 2 – 5 in which John scored 1 – 3 The club extends its deepest sympathy to all his family. May he rest in peace.
