Kilmuray’s Soccer Success

The Kilmurry Under 14 A team recently finished off their season in fine style by completing a League and Cup double. Having already won the Mayo League Division 2 title the Kilmurry boys faced Fahy Rovers in the Trophy final which was played in Solar Park 21, Milebush. An early goal from Niall Maughan settled the nerves and Kilmurry went on to score twice more in the first half through Niall Maughan again and Stefan Petrovich . Fahy did test the Kilmurry keeper , Annie Gough , who made a great one handed save and then got down low to save a penalty. The half time score was 3-0 to Kilmurry .In the second half there were less chances for both teams but 10 minutes from the end Kilmurry captain Darragh Syron , capped a great display with a goal to leave the final score Kilmurry 4 Fahy Rovers 0.

The team which went through the season unbeaten was Annie Gough , Declan Tolan , Cormac Forde , Barry Gaughan , Diarmuid Coggins , Darragh Syron , Darragh Deane , Kyran Jordan , Kai Howley , Niall Maughan , Jack Hampson , Matthew Maughan , Stefan Petrovich and Eoin Murphy.
