Thank you to everyone that supported the annual duck race. The Tops Of The Town begins on Sat. May 11th in Cawleys, Rakestreet and is open to individuals or groups up to five, singing, dancing, playing music, comedy etc. For details or to enter call 087 9120680. €100 for the winner on May 11th and €1000 in prize money on the final night. The next festival meeting is on Tues. April 30th at 8pm in the Enterprise Centre, everyone welcome, come along if you want any input in this years Nephin Festival as all festival events will be finalised before mid May.
The Late Bernie Magner.
The death occurred peacefully on Thursday 18th April at Mayo University Castlebar of Bernard (Bernie) Magner Keenagh Beg Ballina formerly of St Patricks Ace Crossmolina and Ferbane Co Offaly. His remains reposed at Hiney’s Funeral Home on Monday evening with removal to the Church of the Holy Souls Keenagh burial on Tuesday in Crossmolina Cemetery after requiem mass. Bernie is survived by his wife Mary family Catherine Roscrea, Eamon Caragh Co Kildare, Isobel Abbeyleix, Martina Abbeyleix, sisters, daughter – in – law Deirdre, sons – in – law Paul and Pat grandchildren, Ciara, Cillian, Meave, Aine, Sadhbh and Conor, brothers – in – law, sisters – in – law, nephews, nieces, relations, friends and neighbours. May he rest in peace

Breaffy edged out visitors Crossmolina in the county Junior B Championship on Sunday week in a high scoring well contested game played ideal weather conditions. The winners held the upper hand in the opening half leading at the break by 0-12 to 1-5 Dean Loftus scoring the Crossmolina goal. After the break Crossmolina came more into the game a goal from a penalty from David Howley and another from sub Liam Donohoe in the 55th minuet tied the score but Breaffy snatched a late point from a free to win by a point

Mindspace Outreach service in Ballina FRC
Mindspace Mayo offers a support service to young people (15-25yrs) presenting with anything from common concerns (e.g. dealing with break-up, exam stress, bullying) to young people with emerging mental health difficulties such as mild depression and anxiety. The outreach service will run one day a week (Monday) and is based in the Ballina Family Resource Centre. Ballina FRC Parent & Toddler Group
The Parent & Toddler group takes place every Thursday from 10.00am to 12.00 noon in the centre. This group is open to all parents, Grandparents and childminders to come along with their child/children and meet new people over a cuppa and a chat. Crossmolina grabbed two vital League points with four points win over visitors Moy Davitts in a game that was closely contested for 45 minuets Gerard Haran opened the scoring with a point For Crossmolina which was quickly cancelled out by Brian Heneghan and Conor Byrne for Moy Davitts. Fionan Duffy struck three points in a five minuets spell Christopher McGlynn replied with a pointed free and Brian Heneghan and Tom Cafferty exchanged points before the break to leave the half time score 0-5 to 0-4 in the Deel-Siders favour. J.P.Mulhern extended the lead with point in the thirty second minuets. A flowing Moy Davitts move resulted in Conor Byrne cutting in from the left hand side and rifling the ball to back of the net past a helpless Patrick Loftus Fionan Duffy drove over the equalizer minuets later Brian Heneghan grabbed two points in the 40 and 43 minuets in between Kevin Mulhern pointed a 45 Crossmolina held the visitors scoreless for the remainder of the half and tacked on five points from Fionan Duffy John Garrett and three from Fionan Duffy in the last ten minuets to secure a vital win.
