The Late Jimmy Caden 

The death occurred peacefully on Friday 4th May at Árd na Gréine Nursing Home, Enniscrone of James (Jimmy) Caden Ballinlobaun Crossmolina. His remains reposed at Hineys Funeral home on Saturday evening with removal to St Tiernans Church. Burial on Sunday in Crossmolina cemetery after requiem  Mass. Jimmy was predeceased by his parents Patrick and Mai brother Vincent and sister Francis, is survived by his sisters Mary.Jo, Ann Tessie (His twin) and Kathleen, nephews, nieces, extended family, cousins, friends and neighbours. May he rest in peace. 

 

Lotto Results.

There was no winner of the Crossmolina Deel-Rovers GAA Club Lotto Jackpot on Saturday night 5th May. The numbers were 9 – 14 – 16 – 31 two punters matched three numbers John Garrett Ballina Rd Crossmolina, Enda and Jacinta Lavelle Church View Crossmolina each win €75. The draw took place in the Thatch Bar. This weeks Jackpot is €9,000 Many thanks for your continued support

 

Wedding Bells.

Congratulation to David Kearns Carrowkeel and Lorraine Kelly who were married in Kilkenny. They are wished many years of good luck and happiness from their many friends.

Joe formerly of Furmoyle Eskeragh, Mary Sherry nee Corcoran Laherdane sister of Julia Rowland Castlehill, Michael Jiles Castelgar Galway brother of Rita Kearns Mullenmore St, Joe Salmon Clara Offaly brother of Teresa Kelly Abbeytown, James (Jimmy) Caden Ballinlobaun Crossmolina, Michael McCarrick Belleek Ballina husband of Breege nee Gordan, Ciaran Byrne Knock chairman of East Mayo GAA board. May they rest in peace 

 

Crossmolina Day Centre News.

Its music song and dance for this weeks day care centre in the Town Hall Crossmolina on Thursday 17th May from 2pm – 4pm. Light refreshments served. Cover charge €5

 

Keenagh Church News 

Centenary Celebrations will be held on the weekend of July 13th to 15th with concelebrated Mass on Sunday in the Church of the Holy Souls at 3 pm

Vision 2025 Crossmolina

We would like the leaders of voluntary groups & community leaders to attend a meeting in the Enterprise Building on Monday 14th May @ 8pm

to discuss ”Vision 2025 Crossmolina” It is important that groups come together for this project to develop Crossmolina over the coming years.

 

Anam Cara, 

An organisation that supports bereaved parents, will hold a Bereavement Information Evening on Thursday 17th of May from 19:30 to 21:30 in the Family Centre, Chapel Street, Castlebar, Co. Mayo. A guest speaker experienced in supporting bereaved parents will talk for about forty minutes. Afterwards there’ll be an opportunity to speak/listen to other bereaved parents or to speak to the professional should you have any questions or concerns. Singing Pubs 2018.

Heat No. 3 of the 2018 Singing Pubs continues next Saturday night, May 19th, in Maughan’s Pub, €100 for the winner and this year duets are welcome to enter along with solo singers. If your interested in taking part contact 087 2225256.

 

Families Wanted.

In keeping with this year’s theme of “Family Homecoming” and “World Meeting Of Families”, families from the Crossmolina Parish area are invited to take part in the Summer Family Fun, three families will be selected to appear on the Crossmolina Summer Brochure and will receive complimentary tickets for all the family to some of the summer events planned for Crossmolina and officially open this year’s festival. Sligo Adult Education.

There will be a free workshop called Sligo Adult Guidance in Education for early school leavers and adults in North Connaught Tubbercurry from the 29th to 31st May, 10am to 1pm each day. This is a free workshop for anyone who is seeking advice about going onto Further Education courses, going back to Education or wants to up skill or find out how to apply for apprenticeships or training and more.

Minor League.

Crossmolina held on for a one point win over Ardmoy/McHale in the County League at very windy Bofeenaun on Wednesday last. Crossmolina played with the assistance of the breeze in the opening half and raced into a 2-6 lead with scores from Lorcan Loftus and Edward Gough 1-1 each and string points from Daniel Howley Robert Murphy Patrick McAndrew Conor Caden that was in the first quarter and Mickey Murphy grabbed a point for Ardmoy/McHales. The host took over for the remainder of the half Keith Cagney bagging a goal and points Shane Finnerty and Darragh Walsh. Crossmolina started the second half on the attack Edward Gough getting two points before Darragh Walsh pointed for the hosts who were brought right back into game with two goals from Martin Carr and couple of frees from Darragh Walsh with Daniel Howley  Patrick McAndrew and Colm Hegarty making some great  fetching Crossmolina’s Conor Caden pointed and the in the 22nd minuet Edward Gough scored the all important goal and with time running out Darragh Walsh pointed two frees to leave the final score 3-10 to 3-9

Rocks and Roses Concert
