Carmel McDonnell RIP.
The death occurred peacefully on Thursday 6th August at the Sonas Ard Na Greine, Nursing Home, Enniscrone of Carmel McDonnell Castle Court, Ballina, and late of the U.S.A. and Woodville, Crossmolina. Predeceased by her Parents Bridget and Michael her brothers Paddy and Leo. Carmel beloved sister of Margaret Carr (Ballina), Mary (Castleconnor), Annie (U.K), Philomena (Spain), Michael (Alphonsus) and John (U.S.). Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her loving sisters and brothers, sisters-in-law Una, Jane and Ellen, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends. Carmel’s funeral mass of the resurrection was celebrated in the Church of our Lady of the Assumption, Ardagh on Saturday with burial afterwards in Crossmolina Cemetery. Due to current Government and HSE guidelines Carmel’s Funeral was private to family and close friends. The family would like to thank everyone for their understanding and cooperation at this time. May she rest in peace

U14 Championship
Crossmolina whirl wind start with four goals in the opening quarter two from Kobe McDonald one a penalty and one each from Sean Og McGuinness and James O’Boyle Knockmore’s Dara Staunton Adam Langan and Barry Walsh replied with points in between Kobe McDonald and Adam Mills tacked on further points to leave the half time score 4 – 3 to 0 – 4. The third quarter was close affair with both sides scoring four points Adam Mills two James O’Boyle and Luke Malone one each Dara Staunton kicked three frees and Barry Walsh one. Further goals from James O’Boyle and Dylan Flynn and string of points from Adam Mills Billy Loftus Shane Lynn and Josh Moyles saw Crossmolina run out comfortable winners on the score board 6 – 11 to 0 – 9 but if the visitors were a bit more clinical in front of goal they missed a coupe of good scoring chances but saying that Crossmolina defences was always putting pressure on the attacker and this resulted in the missed chances. Jack Leonard Photos Exhibition
For the next week Anthony Leonard will be concentrating on building out more detail about the J.J. (Jack) Leonard photography collection. He will be in the Civic Centre, Crossmolina on Tuesdays from 3 pm – 6 pm to meet anyone that has a story to tell or a Jack Leonard photo to show to him.
