North Mayo Minor Final.
This North Mayo Minor B Championship Final at Kilfine saw the Combination of Ardmoy/McHales Ardagh/ Moygownagh/Laherdane emerge five point winner after a hard fought contest that saw Crossmolina start the better side after Shane Finnerty opened the scoring in the 4th minuet from play. After couple of gilt edged goal scoring chances were missed Tommy Loftus raced through the winners defence to plant the ball in the net in the 9th minute. This was cancelled out four minuets later when Lorcan Finnerty raised a green flag for Ardmoy McHales Lorcan Loftus replied with a point Darragh Walsh scored the next two points the second one which was deflected over the bar by John Tolan preventing a certain goal Crossmolina pressed on with points from Edward Gough and two long range ones from Colm Hegarty. Ardmoy/McHales finished the half the stronger with two points from Shane Finnerty to leave the half time score 1-5 to 1-4 in favour of the winners who would have the assistance of a stiff breeze in the second half.
