Crossmolina and Ardnaree served up a very entertaining first round in the Sweeney Cup at Sean Duffy Park on a bitterly cold Saturday evening. Crossmolina had the upper hand in the opening 30 minutes thanks to goals from Niall Coggins and Eoin Murphy to lead at the break by 2 – 3 to 0 – 6 J Crean with five points and Ethan Convey with a point for the Hosts. A J. Crean goal in the 35th Minuet and further points from Ethan Convey J. Crean and Noelie Beatty pushed the hosts into four points lead.
