Crossmolina had a very comfortable win over an under strength Kilfian in the County League at Tiernan’s Park, Crossmolina, racing into a 1-11 to 0-1 lead at the break with a string of points from J.P.Mulhern, Conor Caden, Fiachra Walsh, Gerard Haran, and 1-1 from Patrick Loftus. Ciaran Boland raised the Kilfian white flag. After the break, Niall McDonnell and Roy Carroll punished the Crossmolina defence for some poor defending with goals each. Crossmolina came back to tag on further points from Gerard Haran, Fiachra Walshe, J.P.Mulhern and a goal and a point from Shane McKinley, Mark Gilroy and Padraig Boland replied with points each to leave the final score 2 -19 to 2 – 3

After a close and exciting first half in which Crossmolina led Balla by five points 2-8 to 1-6, the second thirty minutes the visitors took control. Scoring five goals, they ran out comfortable winners in the end by 6 – 14 to 3-15

Crossmolina carved out a hard-earned five points win away to Bonniconlan on Wednesday last after extra time, when the sides finished level 2-7 to 0-13. A Tommy Loftus goal in extra time and a man of the match display by Darren Caden during the course of the game ensured the Deel-Siders passage into the North Final against Cill Chomain.

Mindspace Outreach Service in Ballina FRC
Mindspace Mayo offers a support service to young people (15-25yrs) presenting with anything from common concerns (e.g. dealing with break-up, exam stress, bullying) to young people with emerging mental health difficulties such as mild depression and anxiety. The outreach service will run one day a week (Monday) and is based in the Ballina Family Resource Centre. Official Opening of Nephin Trailhead
We welcome Minister Michael Ring TD, Minister for Rural and Community Development back to Crossmolina to officially open the newly developed Nephin Trail at Doonbreedia, Nephin Mór. The trail and car park is complete following collaboration between Crossmolina Community Council, Nephin’s Haven Tourism Group, Mayo Co. Council and Coillte. A reception will take place in the Civic Centre, Mullenmore Street at 3.00pm on Friday 19th July 2019. All members of the community are welcome to attend. We look forward to seeing you there.

Hi all, just to let all know the Matt Talbot International Pioneer Association Day is in Knock on Sunday 21st July.
Nephin Festival
It’s festival week and it kicks off this Wednesday, lots of events for all ages including two headline concerts, Liam Lawton in St. Tiernan’s Church on Wednesday evening and on Saturday night it’s award winning Real Magic Queen Tribute Show direct from the UK in Hiney’s Upper Deck. Children’s events this year include Story, Fun & Magic Show, Bingo, Jiving Class, Kite Making, Teddy Bears Picnic, Fishing Competition whilst the whole family can enjoy the Nephin Climb, Family Fun Day, Fitness Walk, Fun Fair and the Street Fest. Pick up a copy of the Crossmolina Summer Brochure, available in local outlets. The festival finishes off with the Grand Final of the “Tops Of The Town” in the Dolphin Hotel on next Sunday night, best of luck to the eight acts through to the final. The festival entertainment line up includes TR Dallas, Kevin Prendergast, Simon Casey, Chantelle Padden, Liam Lawton, Real Magic Queen Tribute, Medicine Bow, Gerry Rowland, Paddy Garvin, Colonel Buckshot Rides Again. Don’t forget to visit the Civic Centre to view the exhibition of local heritage and images from Mike Kinsella, open 12pm to 4pm Thursday to Sunday.
