There was no winner of the Crossmolina Deel-Rovers GAA Club Lotto Jackpot on Saturday night 6th January. The numbers were 4 – 17 – 19 – 20 one punter matched three number Sheila Rixon Kinard Crossmolina. The draw took place in O’Malley’s Bar and Grill. Next weeks jackpot is €6,450. Jordan’s Debut
Jordan Flynn made his first start with Mayo senior footballer in the FBD League against Leitrim in Castlebar on Wednesday night last. The Game ended in a draw with a late Leitrim Goal in wet miserable conditions. Michael Moyles former Crossmolina and Mayo player is the Leitrim trainer this year
Died in England
Ena Hazell, nee Rowland of Derra Upper, Keenagh and Woodstock Oxfordshire died on December 20th 2017 shortly before her 90th birthday. She was the second youngest and last survivor of the 13 children of the late Phelim and Brigid, nee Gallagher, Rowland of Derra Upper. Her siblings that had remained in Ireland were her brothers Tom (Derra Upper), Jimmy (Castlebar), Michael (Roscommon), William (Clontarf) and her sister Chris Marley (Islandmore). She is survived by her husband Ray, son Sean, grandchildren William and Sophie. Her Requiem Mass was celebrated on January 5th 2018 in her local parish church of St Hugh of Lincoln, Woodstock by her nephew Monsignor Phelim Rowland after which her remains were interred locally. She was loved coming home to Ireland, meeting and socializing with old friends and neighbours but was deprived of this and other interests because of Alzheimers in her latter years.
