Hosts St Muredachs playing in Sean Duffy Park raced into a three points lead thanks to Sam Murphy Kristin McNiece and Daniel Touhy before Crossmolina opened their scoring with a point from Diarmuid Walsh in the 19th minuet Niall Coggins tacked on another minuet’s later Shane Tolan and Sam Murphy again raised white flags just before the break Diarmuid Walsh reduced the lead with a point 0 – 5 to 0 – 3. Crossmolina stormed back and were level after 40minutes with two points from Diarmuid Walsh. Daniel Touhy pointed a free and Jonathan Murtagh tied the score with neat point. The game changing score came in the 16minuet when Diarmuid Walsh was tripped in the Square and Jonathan Murtagh drove the resulting penalty to the net off the goalkeeper finger tips Daniel Touhy and Harry Regan reduced the lead with points each and Luke Rowland pointed from play Killain Fergus pointed after the Now customary water break. As the game entered the last five minutes Jason Crean powered his way past a few defenders to tie the score with a shot to the corner of the net past a helpless John Tolan. Two late points from Diarmuid Walsh secured the win for Crossmolina

There was no winner of Crossmolina Deel-Rovers GAA Club Lotto Jackpot Sunday 2nd August the numbers drawn were 1 – 11 – 13 – 24 One ticket matched three numbers Patricia Loftus Creevy Castlehill she wins €150. Mindspace Outreach Service in Ballina FRC.
Mindspace Mayo offers a support service to young people (15-25yrs) presenting with anything from common concerns (e.g. dealing with break-up, exam stress, bullying) to young people with emerging mental health difficulties such as mild depression and anxiety. The outreach service will run one day a week (Monday) and is based in the Ballina Family Resource Centre. Crossmolina carved out a comfortable 6 – 13 to 3 – 8 win over Ardnaree in North Mayo U12 Championship in Sean Duffy Park on Thursday last Dylan Flynn Luke Maloney James O’Boyle and Kobe McDonald were the goal scorers in the opening half Ardnaree’s score getters were Ben Doherty Nathan Roddy Matthew Quinn and Cian Connelly the latter three each scored goals in the third quarter to reduce the lead to ten points 6 – 7 to 3 – 6 That was as good as it got for the hosts and string of Points from Kobe McDonald Adam Mills Billy Loftus Joey Kean and Dylan Flynn kept the challengers at bay Ben Doherty and Nathan Quinn tacked on points each before the final whistle

Pieta House
Pieta House provides counselling, therapy and support to individuals, couples, families and children who have been bereaved by suicide or feeling suicidal.
Pieta House operate an outreach service from the Ballina Family Resource Centre on Tuesdays from 1pm to 5pm & on Wednesdays 9.00am to 1.00pm by apt only Contact: 09325586 to make an Appointment. Due to Covid 19 all these apts are by phone or online presently.
Intermediate Championship
Crossmolina gained a hard earned win in the opening round of the Egan’s Jewellers Mayo Intermediate Championship at a very wet evening in Ballyhaunis. The hosts opened the scoring with an Eamon Phillips point which Conor Loftus and Keith Hopkins cancelled out after six minuets Jason Coyne pointed and Fionan Duffy struck over two frees Jason Coyne pointed a free Brian Benson gave the Deel-Siders a 0 – 5 to 0 – 3 lead at the break Joe Sutten and Fionan Duffy swapped points before Kevin Gallagher and Adrien Phillips from a 45 tied the score Sean Kelly and Jason Coyne exchanged points Brain Benson and Jason Coyne had the sides level before those two late points from Brian Benson secured a precious away win in this very competitive group

Guidelines for Funerals & Weddings
Social distancing in the grounds of the church, in particular, when the bereaved enter the church and are within the building during the celebration of the funeral rites, social distancing should be strictly observed. Expressions of sympathy are not allowed within the church.
Funerals should continue to be private, if at all possible. However, the following should be observed in the church grounds if people gather.
• The bereaved should wear face masks if they meet sympathisers.
• They should not be expected to shake hands with those who want to express sympathy, nor should they touch them in any manner.
• Sympathy should be expressed verbally and quickly.
• Face masks should be worn by sympathisers also.
• They should respect social distancing while they queue.
• They should exit the church grounds by a designated exit point.
The number in the church grounds should not exceed the number allowed for open spaces. This is 200 at present.
Weddings.
• Each church should inform the bridal party beforehand of the number allowed in the church during the ceremony.
• Guests attending should sit in their own family group.
• Music should be provided in accordance with the norms.
• The bride and groom should exit the church before greeting guests in the grounds.
• All guests should wear face masks in the grounds when greeting the bride and groom. And observe social distancing.
• Holy Communion should be distributed in accordance with the normal practice adopted by the church.
• The bride and groom should receive Holy Communion in the hand only and not from the chalice as well.
• Photographers should observe Government and HSE guidelines.
Life Within Limits Exhibition:
The Creative Flower Group want to thank all the business people within the town, who kindly provided their windows to us to decorate and display photographs taken during the lockdown. Once again, this proved a very successful adventure and a special thank you to everyone who donated photographs.
