St Tiernans got a grip in midfield and Darragh Duffy scored a cracking goal after six minuets with defenders on top in the very slippery conditions after a very heavy shower that lasted for the opening thirty minuets. Scores were limited Evan Durkan and Shane Brennan pointed for the west mayo side Adam Naughton and Aaron Coggins tacked on points each in the closing minuets of the half to leave the half time score Rice College 1 – 3, St Tiernans 1- 2. A Oisin Deane Goal in 35th minute was the tonic his side needed as Evan Durkan and Aaron Burke tied up the score with points each.
