Minor Championship

Crossmolina Minor team had a convincing win over Naomh Padraic in the end at Tom Langan Park last week. It was the hosts who set the pace after Edward Gough and Tommy Loftus opened the scoring with a couple of points before Ben Stowe and J.P.Walsh grabbed goals each a Keelan Hegarty goal after 15minuts to put Crossmolina into the lead and further points from Edward Gough and 1-2 from Tommy Loftus the goal from a penalty toe leave the half time score 2-9 to 2-4 Crossmolina continued their scoring rate after the break with Tommy Loftus  and Edward Gough grabbing  goal each and a brace from Lorcan Loftus with Craig McCormack scoring a goal late on which saw the Deel-Siders run out winners by 6-16 to 3-7

Lotto Results.

There was no winner of the Crossmolina Deel-Rovers GAA Club Lotto Jackpot on Saturday night 11th August. The numbers were 7 – 11 – 15 – 18 three punters matched three numbers. Mary Murphy 4 Hillcrest Killala, John Canavan Erris St Crossmolina, John. Gerard and Claire Loftus Killeen Castlehill each win €50. The Draw took place in Sticks Bar. This weeks Jackpot is €11,100. U14 championship

Ballina Stephenites were convincing winner over Crossmolina in this North Mayo U14 Championship tie at Tiernans Park on Friday week running out 9 -11 to 1-8 winners in a very disappointing one sided contest which was of no benefit to either side

Scoil Neifinn News 

Scoil Neifinn Foundation for new all weather playing area has been laid and is expected to be completed before the end of the month. The School is available for enrolment with transport from Crossmolina via the N59 

 

The Late William Garrett

The death occurred peacefully on Tuesday 12th August at University Hospital Galway of William (Willie) Garrett Mullenmore Rd Crossmolina. His remains reposed at Hineys Funeral Home on Thursday evening. Requiem mass on Friday in St Tiernans Church with burial afterwards in Crossmolina cemetery. William was predeceased by his son Damien, is survived by his sons Aiden, Declan and William, daughter-in-law Áine, wife Sheila, partner Marie, grandchildren Aaron, Abbey, and Damien sister Mary and brother-in-law Myles, nephews, nieces, relatives, friends and neighbours. May he rest in peace.

 

St Tiernan’s Cemetery Committee 

Thank you to everyone who so kindly contributed to our Cemetery Mass collection this year. The total collection came to €2637. We will be having a meeting in the first week in September and if you would like to join our group you are most welcome. The Cemetery Committee. 

 

Minor Championship

Crossmolina started this County Minor Round 2 tie at Tiernans Park with a string of points from Edward Gough and Robert Murphy. The visitor settled and Conal Walsh pointed after ten minuets Padraic Cummins grabbed a goal minuets later Tommy Ruane tied the score Liam Gallagher Conal Walsh Padraic Cummins each pointed before Tommy Loftus found the Claremorris net and Edward Gough tacked on a point A Conor McGuinness gaol and Tommy Ruane point saw the visitors go in at the break leading by 2-6 to 1-7. A Tommy Ruane goal in the 38th minuet gave his side a plat form to build on and further points from Harry Bourke and Tommy Ruane. Adam Langan gave his side a life line with a goal and a point in the 48th minuet but Padraic Cummins cancelled those scores minuets later which saw Claremorris go on and run out convincing winner by 4-10 to 2-8

Maureen Boland RIP

The death occurred suddenly and peacefully at her residence on Thursday 9th August  of Maureen Boland nee Anderson Moneymore Crossmolina. Her remains reposed at her residence on Tuesday evening with removal on Wednesday morning to St Tiernans Church for requiem mass burial afterwards in Crossmolina cemetery. Maureen was predeceased by her sister Mavis and Brother Bill, is survived by her husband Martin son Martin Castlebar, daughter Deborah (Catarian Italy, grandchildren, brothers John and Jim, sisters Mildred and Sheila, brothers-in- law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, friends and neighbours. May she rest in peace 

Padraic Wins in Dublin

Congratulations to Padraic Judge riding (Citi Business) formerly of  St Marys Park Crossmolina now living outside Castlebar who gave a great performance in the Puissance event at the Dublin Horse  Show last week sharing the top prize with Richaed Howley, Mickie Pender and Brazilain Pedro Muylaert after the wall was set at 2.25m just 2cm short of the record height for the event none could clear the final height
