Lotto Results.

There was no winner of Crossmolina Deel-Rovers GAA Club Lotto Jackpot  Saturday night 27tH June the numbers drawn were  5 – 6 –  9–  22  one ticket  matched three numbers John and Rose O’Donnell  St Mary’s Park Crossmolina  and they win €150. This week’s jackpot is €4,950. The draw takes place in the Parish Hall on Saturday night and can be viewed on Crossmolina GAA face book page. Many thanks for your support

 

Dan Sweeney RIP

The death occurred peacefully at his residence on Monday 29th June of Dan Sweeney Cloonoragh, Crossmolina, Co. Mayo. Dan’s funeral mass was celebrated in St Tiernans Church on Wednesday with burial afterwards in Crossmolina Cemetery. Dan is deeply mourned by his loving nephews, nieces, neighbours, relatives and friends. Due to Government Restrictions and H.S.E. Guidelines Dan’s Funeral was for family only.  May he rest in peace.

 

Nephin Festival.

Brochures are now available locally for this year’s festival which runs from July 22nd to 26th.  Many of the usual annual events have been changed so the festival will be somewhat different so as to comply with public health guidelines.  Tickets are on sale for the Drive in Movie night at Enniscoe House on Fri. July 24th and the Drive In Bingo on Sat. July 25th.  Follow the festival on Facebook and Instagram

 

Doing a Clear Out – Clothes Recycling.

If you are clearing out your home please drop the clothes, shoes, bags etc into the Ballina Family Resource Centre, Abbey Street, Ardnaree. We are doing a Cash for Clobber as a Fundraiser for the Centre, your support would be greatly appreciated.  If you need bags we have some in the centre, just drop in and collect them. For more info call 096 75573, all money received for clobber goes directly to Ballina FRC.

 

Mindspace Outreach Service in Ballina FRC.

Mindspace Mayo offers a support service to young people (15-25yrs) presenting with anything from common concerns (e.g. dealing with break-up, exam stress, bullying) to young people with emerging mental health difficulties such as mild depression and anxiety.  For further information on Mindspace Mayo please see our website www.mindspacemayo.ie or call us on 094-9067001

 

Pieta House Outreach Service Ballina.

Pieta House provides counselling, therapy and support to individuals, couples, families and children who have been bereaved by suicide or feeling suicidal. Pieta House outreach service is running by phone or online whilst the lockdown is on for Covid19.  Contact: 09325586 to make an Appointment

 

Garda Pat Has Retired.

Garda Pat Garvey Native of Miltown Co Galway who served in Pearse St Dublin for 9 years before transferred to Crossmolina 29th October 1999. Leaving a unit in Pearse st of 40 guards to working alone in Crossmolina was a big change. Pat a big Galway GAA supporter only came to a station with Marron and White Club colours at that time Crossmolina were enjoying a great run of success. Crossmolina station is part of the Ballina/Belmullet Community Engagement area. Garda Garvey was always a community Garda who was well respected and highly thought of by the people he served. Pat and his family are wished many years of good health and happiness in his retirement 

 

European Funding For Keenagh Scientist.

Dr Gerard Clarke Tubridge Keenagh who is a scientist at University College Cork and Professor John. F, Cryan has received Prestigious European funding for the research on irritable Bowel syndrome. With funding of €6 million overall the project involves researchers from eight European countries and a number of European SMEs and aims to better diagnose, prevent and treat this common Debilitating Condition. IBS is a very Common Gastrointestinal disorder characterized by Abdominal pain, excess gas and diarrhea or constipation, predominantly seen in young and middle-aged females. Dr Gerard son of John and Ann and his colleagues has done huge research into this common condition hopefully with this funding they will be able to progress to a medicine solution in the very near future
