There was no winner of Crossmolina Deel-Rovers GAA Club Lotto Jackpot Saturday night 15th August. The numbers drawn were 1 – 2 – 13 – 35 Denise Cawley Mullenmore Crossmolina matched three numbers and won €150. This week’s jackpot is €6.000 The draw takes place in the Parish Hall on Saturday night and can be view on Crossmolina GAA face book page. Many thanks for your support.
Crossmolina Chronicle 2020
We hope to produce another edition of the magazine in early December. For that to happen we need people from the four Church areas of the parish to become involved by writing an article or story. McHale/Rovers Intermediate continued their good run of form with hard earned win away to Louisburgh. This was the sides second win on the road in the past two weeks. In a closely contested first half the visitors had much the better of the exchanges after the break to run out comfortable winners

This was certainly a game of two halves the first which Crossmolina dominated on the score board with three goal’s two from Edward Gough and one from Shane Hennigan Moygownagh’ Kevin Murray Alan Gallagher Cormac Blehein kept plugging away with points In between Declan Gilroy Killian Fergus and Edward Gough were keeping the umpire busy at the other end notching points to leave the half time score 3 – 4 to 0 – 5. With Alan Gallagher unerring from frees he scored nine points in total over the sixty minuets with assistance from Kevin Murray Oisin Carolan Cormac Blehein Moygownagh outscored Crossmolina elevens points to two in the second half Colm Hegarty and Killian Fergus scored for the visitors to leave the final score 0 – 16 to 3 – 6 in Moygownagh’s Favour

U16 North championship
Crossmolina recorded a good away win in Tallagh in the North Mayo U16 Championship last Tuesday evening. It was a game that ebbed and flowed The visitors started with a lot of possession but stout defending and poor shot selection left the just one point separating the sides after 15minuets 1 – 4 to 0 – 6 Richie Shelly made a great run out of defence to score a goal with three points from James Maheady and one points from Declan Tolan Belmullet replied through Ciaran Cawley three points Eoin Walsh two Anthony Barrett and Darren McDonnell points each. Belmullet dominated the second quarter scoring two goals from Anthony Barrett one just after the break and the other on the stroke of half time Daniel Dixon Ciaran Cawley and Sean Lavelle. Eoin Murphy grabbed two points before the half time whistle to leave the score 2 – 10 to 1 – 6 Crossmolina came more into game in the third quarter James Maheady kicking over two points and Declan Tolan Diarmuid Coggins Niall Maughan each pointed Anthony Barrett and Eoin Walsh each scored two points that still left six separating the sides after 45 minutes. Crossmolina outscored Belmullet by 2 – 5 to 0 – 2 after the water break James Maheady raised three white flags in as many minuets Dara Syron struck over a monstrous point from a distance James Maheady was pulled down in the square and up stepped Dara Syron to drill the ball to the net Eoin Walsh pointed two frees to narrow the gap but Diarmuid Fox raced out of defence to kick a neat point to leave the final score 3 – 16 to 2 – 16 after very well contested game on a balmy evening in Tallagh.

Crossmolina and Erris St Pats served up a very exciting north Mayo minor Championship game in Tiernans Park on Friday week with the sides level at the Break 1 – 10 to 2 – 7 Luke Rowland scored the Deel-Siders Goal Crossmolina upped their work rate after the break and ran out comfortable winners in the end 4 – 16 to 3 – 11 after a great game of fast open football with some great scores

Mindspace Outreach Service in Ballina FRC
Mindspace Mayo offers a support service to young people (15-25yrs) presenting with anything from common concerns (e.g. dealing with break-up, exam stress, bullying) to young people with emerging mental health difficulties such as mild depression and anxiety. The outreach service will run one day a week (Monday) and is based in the Ballina Family Resource Centre. Crossmolina 1 – 12 Killala 0 – 14
Crossmolina edged out Killala by the narrowest of Margins in this North Mayo Junior championship tie at Tiernans Park on Sunday week. Mattie Keane kicked Killala’s eight first half points from all angles and distances with his first after one minuet. It took Crossmolina six minutes to open their account with a Gerard Haran point after six minuet’s and brothers Conor and Nigal Caden rowed in with points each. Robert Murphy finished a great move to the net that stared deep in defence to give his side the lead Conor Caden quickly pointed and Robert Murphy tacked on two to leave the Half time score 1 – 6 to 0 – 8. The visitors edged the third quarter with two more Mattie Keane points and one each from Cian O’Dea and Sub Cian Gilvarry. Conor Caden replied with a point and Gerard Haran added two to leave the sides level on the water break 1 – 9 to 0 – 12 Conor Caden Gerard Haran and Nigal Caden all pointed in between Dara Herbert pointed and David Lowther reduced the lead to the minimum just before the final whistle
