The Late Mary Brigid Conway
The death occurred peacefully on Saturday 15th August at St. James’s Hospital, Dublin. Mary Brigid Conway nee Fergus 24 Rathbraughan Park, Ballytivnan, Sligo and formerly of Cuilagurrain Castlehill Crossmolina Mayo. Her remains reposed at The Foley and McGowan Funeral Home, Market Yard, Sligo on Wednesday evening with removal to St. Joseph’s Church, Ballytivnan, Sligo on Thursday morning for Requiem mass. Funeral proceeded to Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan afterwards. Mary Brigid, predeceased by her parents John and Lena Fergus, Beloved wife of John and loving mother of Lorraine Arslan Sadly missed by her loving husband and daughter, brothers Christy, Michael, Sean, Joseph and PJ, sisters Teresa, Geraldine, Ann and Kathleen, son-in-law Seruhan, grandchildren Melik, Diyar and Hasret, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Her Funeral Mass and burial was private to family and close friends only, restricted to 30 people in the church in accordance with the current Government and HSE guidelines on public gatherings. The family appreciate your sympathy, respect, support and understanding at this time. May she rest in peace
North Mayo Minor Championship
Crossmolina started off with a goal from Luke Rowland and a point from Diarmuid Walsh which Cill Chomain responded through Sean Irwin with three points and Adam Conroy one to leave the sides level at the water break. Crossmolina quickly tacked on another goal from Luke Rowland and Diarmuid Walsh point. That was as good as it got for the visitors Mark Tighe and Michael Walsh were started to dominate at midfield and the Deel-Siders defence came under severe pressure and the scorers flowed Mark Tighe Grabbed two goals and a point and Sean Irwin raising white flag to leave half time score 2 – 7 to 2 – 2 Diarmuid Walsh and Luke Rowland as they started the second quarter bagged goals each and Cillian Fergus pointed. Cill Chomain dominated from their to the finish with scores points from Dara McAndrew and Adam Conroy and Mark Tighe completed his hat trick of goals Dara McAndrew goaled Mark Tighe Sean Lavelle and Adam Conroy all pointed to leave the final score Cill Chomain 4 – 13 Crossmolina 4 – 3 for a comfortable win in the end after Crossmolina were guilty of over playing and taking the wrong options when in a good scoring positions

Knockmore dominated this game for 30 minutes racing into a 2 – 3 to no score at the water break with goals from Ollie Armstrong and Kyle Neary and Points from Aaron McDonnell Dylan Holmes Crossmolina recovered with points from Eoin Murphy three and one each from James Maheady Richie Shelly Darragh Syron in between Dylan Holmes and Ollie Armstrong had tacked on points and Kyle Neary grabbed his sides third goal to leave the half time score 3 – 6 to 0 – 6. What ever was said to the Deel-Siders at the break certainly worked they proceeded to hold their opponents scoreless for the remaining thirty minutes with Goals from James Maheady and Diarmuid Coggin and points from Eoin Murphy two James Maheady three and Darragh Darragh Syron one to secure a deserved win after a poor start

Mindspace Outreach Service in Ballina FRC
Mindspace Mayo offers a support service to young people (15-25yrs) presenting with anything from common concerns (e.g. dealing with break-up, exam stress, bullying) to young people with emerging mental health difficulties such as mild depression and anxiety. The outreach service will run one day a week (Monday) and is based in the Ballina Family Resource Centre. Crossmolina held on for a one point win over Erris St Pats in the final of the North Mayo U18 B final in Cill Chomáin on Thursday last. It was a game that ebbed and flowed. Diarmuid Walsh opened the scoring Nathan Ginnelly replied with a point and Mickie Ginnelly tacked on 1 – 1 Diarmuid Walsh and Niall Coggins pointed before Nathan Ginnelly grabbed his sides second goal in the 10th minute Diarmuid Walsh reduced the lead with a like score to leave the score 2 – 2 to 1 – 3 after fifteen minutes Crossmolina were enjoying the greater share of the spoils but poor finishing left them level at the half time break Fiachna Barrett raised his sides third green flag and Owen Doherty pointed Niall Coggins Vladimier Gordetskyy tacked on points and a further four points from Diarmuid Walsh saw the sides level Crossmolina took control of the third quarter two points from Diarmuid Walsh one from Luke Rowland and a goal from Cillian Fergus. Mickie Ginnelly reduced the lead with two points 2 – 12 to 3 – 5 after 45minuets Diarmuid Walsh pointed and Mickey Ginnnelly added a brace for Erris St Pats Luke Rowland replied with a point before Nathan Ginnelly scored his second goal of the evening and minuets later Diarmuid Coggins replied with goal for the Deel-Siders and Luke Rowland pointed before Erris St Pats came down the field and in goalmouth scrambler attacker hauled down in the square and Nathan Ginnelly scored the resulting penalty and in injury time John Ginty reduced the lead to the minimum. Crossmolina survived for deserved win in a game that they should have closed out with all the Possession they enjoyed over the hour

Crossmolina and Ballina served up exciting draw in North Mayo Junior B League tie at James Stephens Park on Wednesday last The Hosts ran into five points to two lead in the opening quarter three points from Diarmuid Durkan one each from Brendan O’Hora and Sean Tracey for Crossmolina Gerard and Shane Hennigan replied with points each. The Stephenites Diarmuid Durkan Sean Tracey Eoin Coleman added further points in between Shane Hennigan brought visitors right back into game when he fisted ball to net Edward Gough and Gerard rounded of the half with points each to leave half time score 0 – 9 to 1 – 5 two points from Gerard Haran and one each from Conor Caden which were cancelled out with like scores from Diarmuid Durkan and Brendan O’Hora to leave the score 1 – 9 to 0 – 11 at the water break. That lead was wiped in side a minuet on the resumption when Brendan O’Hora Converted a penalty Robert Murphy pointed from play Rory Morrin pointed for Ballina and two late points from Conor Caden and Gerard Haran secured the share of the spoils in a game of fast open football
